- Silver medal in the EcoVadis sustainability rating confirmed for the second time in a row
- Significant improvements in all four rating categories and rise into the top ten percent of globally rated companies.
Salzgitter AG has once again been recognized for its sustainability achievements. As in the previous year, the steel group received a silver medal in the latest EcoVadis rating. The company significantly improved its performance in all four assessment criteria compared to 2025. With a total score of 78 out of 100 possible points (previous year: 70/100), Salzgitter AG ranks among the top 8 percent of companies assessed worldwide.
For the EcoVadis rating, companies are assessed in four different categories. Compared to the previous year, Salzgitter AG achieved significant progress in all areas in 2026:
- Environment: 79/100 points (2025: 75/100)
- Labour and human rights: 82/100 points (2025: 77/100)
- Ethics: 64/100 points (2025: 50/100)
- Sustainable procurement: 80/100 points (2025: 66/100)
The award underscores the high priority that sustainability holds throughout the entire group. Salzgitter AG has participated in the EcoVadis rating since 2023. In the first two years, it achieved bronze status. In 2025, the group was awarded a silver medal for the first time, placing it among the top 15 percent of the companies assessed.
